Adriana Guillen was a contestant on Season 4 of MasterChef. She ranked in 18th place.

Personality[]

Adriana was very kind and quiet during her time in the competition. She never got into any conflicts with any contestants, and during the first Team Challenge, she tried her best to work with everyone on her team.

Season 4[]

Episode 1[]

Adriana was shown midway through the episode, and revealed that she grew up in a small Mexican village called Vista Hermosa. She said the house she grew up in had no indoor plumbing, she loved playing in mud, and had names for her cows. Her cooking was always inspired by something her mom taught her, and revealed she was making a prickly pear cactus soup, and that her parents were coming to support her. Her family was shown having trouble with the map, but thankfully they came as she was about to walk into the audition room.

She presented her prickly pear cactus soup with dried shrimp croutons to the judges. After the judges tasted and evaluated the dish, Graham gave her a yes, as he enjoyed all the components and that she stayed true to her roots. Gordon said no, as even though the dish was good, he was unconvinced because she was too sweet and the competition in front of her was fierce. Joe had the same dilemma, but she assured him she was tough and wouldn't let anything stop her. His answer was not shown, but she ran down the hallway with an apron while everyone cheered. Adriana said this apron was the beginning of her life and opportunity to move forward with what she loved, before declaring herself the next MasterChef.

Episode 3[]

Adriana's Boot Camp dish was not seen, but she was one of 15 home cooks that was immediately accepted into the MasterChef Kitchen.

Episode 4[]

Adriana wasn't seen in the Mystery Box Challenge nor the Langoustine Elimination Challenge.

Episode 5[]

Adriana was the sixth contestant selected by Jordan to be a part of the blue team. At one point, she was seen peeling apples for the dessert. During service, she said that Jordan was frazzled and everyone was just trying to get food on the plates, before struggling scooping the ice cream. After service was complete, she was nervous as she couldn't tell what side had more kids. The blue team lost the challenge after scoring 42% of the votes, meaning they had to face the pressure test.

Before the Pressure Test started, Adriana said she was unsure what it would hold, but would do whatever it took to win. She was not one of the 3 contestants saved by Jordan, meaning she had to compete. Shortly after the 90 minutes began, she was seen calling for the medic as she already cut herself. Graham came over to her station, and questioned her when she revealed she was preparing guava paste with mango. She said she felt confident and although she didn't have that much of a sweet tooth, she loved cheesecake.

Adriana was the last contestant to present her cheesecake, with guava pasta, mango, and coconut. The judges remarked that it looked like a tart instead of a cake. Ramsay said that his big problem was the canned guava, and he would only use it for a processed plant. Graham said that the cooked-down guava and mango didn't have a lot of tropical flavor, and the coconut didn't add anything except for some chew. He admired her way of thinking, but that it didn't go the way she wanted it to. Joe pointed out that the crust was like sand, the topping had no relevance, and her performance might have bought Savannah another day in the competition.

Due to her underwhelming performance, Adrianna was sent to the Bottom 2 with Savannah. Adriana believed Savannah would go home, as Savannah's cake was even shorter and she had sweetness and tartness. Ultimately, she was eliminated due to a poorly-constructed cheesecake and using guava paste as a topping. She blew a kiss to the gallery as Savannah went upstairs. The judges told her she should be proud of what she's done, and to continue her dream. During her exit interview, she was unsure of where she was going, but she wouldn't let this defeat her, and it was only the beginning.

Episode 25[]

Adriana, along with the other eliminated home cooks, returned for the finale to cheer on Natasha and Luca.
