Billy has a serious love for Malaysian cuisine and prior to entering the MasterChef kitchen, he had a food blog where he showcased his passion for photography and food.
In 2010, he left his web design career behind to join season 3 of MasterChef and created so many amazing dishes that kept him in the competition.[1]

- On September 2012, he published a cookbook called "Have You Eaten?".
- On November 26, 2022, he married his longtime partner, Peter Harris.[2]

- He was eliminated on Week 10 but he returned because of Mat's disqualification.
