Brielle "Bri" Baker was a contestant on Seasons 10 and 12 of MasterChef. On Season 10, she ranked in 8th place, and on Season 12, she ranked in 13th place.

Personality

In Season 10, Bri was a mild-mannered and nice person who also started the competition off on a strong note. From the beginning, she cooked multiple dishes that landed her in the top groups in challenges and she consistently won in Team Challenges, including being a winning team captain. However, towards the middle, she began to struggle more and had dishes that landed her in the bottom, despite having confidence and determination. Unfortunately, she ended up serving raw salmon to the judges, and this led to her elimination. She was best known for her friendship with Fred and her formidable plating skills, which led to her being dubbed "The Plating Queen" by the judges and the rest of the contestants.

In Season 12, Bri returned with supposedly more culinary experience and wanting to show her growth since Season 10. Unfortunately, she never stood out in the competition, finishing in the middle for the first half of her run and eventually fell into the same slump as she did in Season 10 with her consecutively landing in the bottom. Despite making up for it by winning the second Team Challenge as Team Captain, she fell back in the bottom again after her dish did not seem to represent Christine's Vietnamese Mystery Box and had a bizarre sauce despite her salmon being cooked, leading to her elimination. She kept her strong friendship with Fred and was still respected by the judges as their "Plating Queen".

Quotes

Season 10

  • (After failing in the bread mystery box challenge) "I'm just feeling disappointed. I wanna disappear basically."
  • (After being eliminated) "It's really hard to walk away right now, but I really had some high points throughout this journey. With that being said, this competition is definitely the hardest thing I've ever done, but I think I've shown enough of my strengths as the best plater of the competition and I think I'm more ready now to go into that culinary world and I think it's really just the beginning."

Season 12

  • "Prior to MasterChef Season 10, I was a cocktail server in a bar and then after that, I was able to hit the ground running, doing pop-up dining events. I recently have been focusing on the social media world and I do a lot of food photography contests."
  • "The judges have been really tough this whole time. They know that we've all worked professionally in the culinary world. We are all-stars here and we should be able to do whatever's thrown at us."
  • (After being eliminated) "When I first came into the MasterChef Kitchen, I was a 23-year-old trying to find her way. I came back to show that growth that I have achieved since Season 10. It's really sweet to get that recognition from Gordon Ramsay. Even though I'm leaving here tonight, I got to cook amongst the best of the best and I will always be the MasterChef Plating Queen."
