Christian Green was a contestant on Seasons 5 and 12 of MasterChef. On Season 5, he ranked in 5th place, and on Season 12, he was the Co-Runner Up alongside Michael.

Personality

Christian was a fiery and passionate cook, and was easily one of the stronger competitors throughout the season. However, he also had a funny side and was shown to crack good jokes and loosen up the atmosphere, leading him to be respected by many of his fellow teammates and even the judges. He was able to pull in strong performances in the individual and team challenges consistently, and rarely ever placing at the bottom. He took the competition very seriously and had zero tolerance for nonsense, with a prime example of him railing on Tyler during a team challenge for eating food that was meant for the customers. However, despite his overall consistency, he crashed hard on his final challenge, which led to his shocking elimination. He developed friendships with Jaimee, Elizabeth, Daniel, Willie, and was well-respected by Cutter. However, he initially had dislikes towards Leslie and Courtney. The former due to his ego and talkative nature, and the latter for her seemingly seductive nature towards the judges, although he mended fences with the latter later on after working together in a pair team challenge. He also visibly grew more fond of Leslie as the competition moved forwards.

Season 5

Episode 4

During the Live Seafood Mystery Box, he prepared a Creole BBQ Shrimp dish on top of cheddar grits. He was called to the Top 3 with Francis B. and Ahran, but eventually lost the challenge to Ahran. He was not seen during the Box of Donuts Elimination Challenge.

Episode 7

The judges revealed the next team challenge would be in pairs. When asked who we would not want to be paired with, he quickly responded Courtney. Graham said she had the best dish in the last challenge, but he didn't care as he didn't see her as real. Courtney was safe from elimination and got to choose the teams. She paired Christian with Francis B, hoping their big personalities would clash. However, he thought that he and Francis B worked well together, and hoped to prove Courtney wrong.

Christian and Francis ended up presenting a Moroccan spiced ribeye, with green beans, roasted potatoes, and a king crab topping. The dish was deemed to simplistic, with the judges saying either of them could have done that in 20 minutes. Christian and Francis were called as one of the bottom two teams, along with Cutter and Dan Wu, forcing them to compete in the Spring Roll Pressure Test. He presented his vegetable medley spring rolls with a sweet dipping sauce. His spring rolls were deemed delicious, and although he had some small technical errors, he had the best dish and was the first to be sent to the balcony.

Episode 8

During the American Diner Challenge, Christian was assigned to the blue team as the teams were divided by gender. However, Ramsay revealed the teams could swap from chef each. Due to his prior experience working in restaurants, he was swapped for Victoria.

During service, Christian was in charge of the fried chicken. At one point, one of his dishes came back for being raw, but he fixed his mistake. The red team won the challenge, and he was safe from the Pressure Test.

Episode 9

In this mystery box challenge, the remaining cooks had to cook with Alaskan king Salmon which Christian was excited about, his Blackened Salmon with Vegetable Medley and Tomato Puree won him that challenge, in the pantry Christian was given the advantage of choosing a basket of ingredients hand picked by one of the judges. In Joe's basket he described the ingredients he chose as 'the bounty of Italy' while Graham's basket contained ingredients that he liked to find at the Farmer's Market. And finally, in Gordon's basket was a taste of the UK and from glancing it contained Cod, Russet Potatoes, Mushrooms and various other ingredients.
