Daniel "Danny" Raposo was a contestant on Season 1 of MasterChef Canada. He ranked in 13th place.
Personality
Danny was a nice guy during his run in the MasterChef kitchen. He was shown to be a chill guy having a laid back personality. However, he was shown to be a one trick pony shown to only make Portuguese based dishes, and he often failed to execute them. Because of this, Danny is considered one of the weakest cooks in MasterChef Canada.

Episode 1
Danny did not appear in this episode.
Episode 2
Danny first appeared in this episode auditioning his dish. He presented the judges his Homemade Chorizo with a Spicy Portuguese Rice and Beer Mustard Sauce. He decided to later then not provide the sauce with his dish due to it tasting bad to the judges which led to a no for Michael, but after being asked to bring in his entire family, gained a yes from Claudio and Alvin, therefore advancing him into the next round.
He was later seen cooking in a chicken challenge to earn a spot in the Top 16. He was a part of the 8 cooks that the judges needed further evaluation for, along with John, Dale, Kaila, Evan, Sparkle, Bubba, and Dora. He presented the judges a Chicken Couscous, Valencia Style. The judges enjoyed the dish but commented that the dish was not presented well, however he gained the last spot along with Dora in the Top 16 making him advance.
Episode 3
During the Kraft Peanut Butter Mystery Box Challenge, Danny presented a Peanut Butter Pork with Chorizo, Beans and Peanut Butter Cream Sauce. His dish was not selected in the challenge.
In the Elimination Challenge, he made an obscure mistake of puréeing his smelts, which Marida said was a no-no. He presented his Smelt Croquettes with Chili Lime Sauce. The judges were enraged over it due to the smelt flavour being mushy and lost in the croquettes, and Alvin especially was outraged, claiming that he was in the MasterChef kitchen and this was what he received. His smelt dish ended up getting him into the Bottom 3 but was saved from elimination by Meghan's smelt quiche and Ben's smelt cakes being worse, as well as his performance during the challenge.
Episode 4
Danny sat out of the team challenge that were to cook lunch for the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team due to his illness. He then was sent to the pressure tests but was saved by Dale.
Episode 5
Danny appeared in the Burger Mystery Box Challenge, but his burger was not selected for the challenge.
During the apples and beer elimination challenge, he presented to the judges Spicy Pork Medallions with Apple Slaw and Chutney. Kaila commented that the dish looked like an 80's throwback from a really bad diner. The judges commented about the presentation being terrible, and Michael felt the dish wouldn't work. It tasted marginally better than it looks, and Claudio openly admitted that it was the worst dish of the night at tasting. He was sent to the Bottom 3 along with Pino's pork chop, lentils, and apple compote, and Eric's apple pie with beer caramel. His dish was the worst of the night, and was eliminated.
