Darrick Krause was a contestant on Season 9 of MasterChef and was mentored by Gordon Ramsay. He ranked in 20th place.

Personality

Darrick was very passionate, but despite having a strong start impressing Ramsay with one of his signature restaurant dishes in the auditions, his performance plummeted very quickly. While he showed a lot of potential, he was often lost and could make basic mistakes left and right. However, his biggest problem was that he was unprepared, having never practiced prior to entering the competition (whipping cream being the prime example) and was the only one in the history of the show to be reported not to do so, which explained his inexperience, poor technique, and how he crashed hard on his very first Pressure Test which ultimately forced him to hand over his apron. He even told Gordon that he didn’t like whipped cream.
