Kim Dung "Slim" Huynh was a contestant on Season 1 of MasterChef. She ranked in 9th place.

Personality

Slim was known for her dry sense of humor, hatred of Whitney, cluelessness, and arrogance. At the age of 22, Slim was one of the youngest contestants in the season. She was shown to have a promising start in the beginning of the competition, having wowed the judges with her knowledge of Vietnamese cooking during the egg Bootcamp challenge. She also showed some promise, delivering a delicious chicken dish during the Chinese Invention Test utilizing the mandarin oranges, although she did not include the stock, which Gordon was initially drawn to. From there, her lack of knowledge in non-Asian cuisines proved to be her detriment, and it got to the point where she couldn't keep up with the competition and stopped listening to the judges' advice. This led to her eventually going home after failing to produce a cohesive dish that featured passionfruit.
