Interested in cooking from the age of four, Heather was taught to cook by her mum, dad, grandmother and older sister. She got into cooking more seriously aged 14 when she became a vegetarian, not eating meat again until she was 21.

After graduating high school, Heather pursued business studies, gaining an Advanced Diploma in Management (Hospitality) and a Bachelor in Business from TAFE.

Having been bitten by the travel bug after five months travelling overseas with her family as a child, Heather headed to Europe with friends aged 21, with food a highlight of her travels.

Following her studies, Heather worked as a lecturer’s assistant, before becoming marketing manager at Howard Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills and then general manager of its cellar door. From there, she joined an entertainment guide company, combining her hospitality and business skills.

In 2013, Heather was ready for a change and moved to Sydney, becoming national business development manager at Groupon. She also met her partner Robert, who is her number one fan and supporter.

Motivated by cooks like Maggie Beer, Jamie Oliver, Heston Blumenthal and Julia Child, Heather also admires Marion Grasby and Justine Schofield.

Her dream is to develop her culinary skills in Sydney and Europe before coming home to South Australia and ideally setting up a regional food venue, where the menu would be centred around fresh, seasonal produce and championing local producers. Heather would also love to share her knowledge with home cooks, teaching tips and techniques via online tutorials.[1]
