“ | When I present my dish, I'm really proud. I liked the presentation and I think the judges are gonna find it genius. | ” |
Maxwell "Max" Kramer was a contestant on Season 2 of MasterChef. He ranked in 14th place.
Personality
Max was a very passionate cook and despite being the youngest of the season, he always wanted to prove himself to the judges. However, he had a very arrogant and pretentious attitude that annoyed many of the other cooks. In the kitchen, he started out very strong, but quickly grew inconsistent, lacked vocal leadership, and started to put in mixed performances, to the point where he couldn't keep up with the intensity of the competition, leading to his elimination. Despite this, he never lost his cool, was able to set aside grudges, and eventually admitted his mistakes in the end, especially when he took his defeat graciously in the end by supporting Christine, Alejandra, Derrick, and Jennie upon his elimination. He clashed with Tony and had short-lived feuds with Christian, Esther, and Suzy, eventually wishing the worst for the latter three after being eliminated.

Quotes
- (During the first team challenge) "I know I need to take charge with the burgers. Tony's being subpar right now. The best way to help is to precook a bunch of Tony's burgers so we can keep up with the demand. (That's the last time Tony makes patties. They suck. They're falling apart.) I'm precooking all these burgers, trying to make up for what Tony can't do, and I can't find a clean tray to bring them out on. The best I can find is a tray that has some nuts on it. I'm in a hurry and this is cafeteria food, not fine dining. I really don't care."
- "When I present my dish, I'm really proud. I liked the presentation and I think the judges are gonna find it genius."
- (About Esther yelling out orders) "Spoken like a true dictator."
- (About casing the sausages) "I'm just a monkey on a machine, I put the meat on the top. That's it. Then it's Christine's job".
- "Christine's sinking the entire ship right now. I think I could've done a better job, but captain Esther gave us specific assignments and, I'm not gonna make a scene."
- (About Christian purposely rooting for Christine and not Max) "Somebody bring them some wine so they can be quiet please."
- (After being eliminated) "I'm sad that I'm leaving MasterChef. I would've hoped to stay a little bit longer, but I proved that there are some 18-year olds who can cook better than older people. Christine needs this title more than I do, she's a single mother, and I think that this would be very good for her. Alejandra, Derrick, and Jennie, I wish you the best of luck. Christian, Suzy, and Esther, can't wait to see you crash and burn. Your time's coming."
